Leading From Wholeness is an intimate six-week coaching experience, not another leadership training, where six Black women in senior leadership step outside performance, titles, and expectations to have honest conversations about leadership, identity, power, ambition, boundaries, and what they want the next chapter to look like.
I spent fifteen years climbing into rooms I was told would mean I'd finally arrived, and I remember the moment I got there and felt something I hadn't prepared for: emptiness. I had learned to translate myself so fluently that I'd lost track of who I was underneath the performance. That's what led me to leave and build Culture by Design™: a belief that people matter more than productivity, and that Black women in particular deserve leadership that doesn't require self-erasure to sustain. This cohort is that belief put into practice in a room where we examine how culture has shaped the way you lead, and what you want to carry forward, redefine, or leave behind.
Identity & Leadership. We'll explore the values, experiences, cultural influences, and stories that have shaped who you are and how you've learned to lead.
Performance, Survival & Emotional Labor. We'll examine the invisible weight that can accompany leadership: overperformance, perfectionism, responsibility, code-switching, emotional labor, and the pressure to always have it together.
We'll explore your relationship with authority, influence, organizational politics, visibility, self-advocacy, and what it means to use power without abandoning your values. We'll also talk honestly about what happens between us, the ways scarcity inside hierarchical systems can turn potential allies into quiet competitors, and what it would take to build rooms where more than one of us can thrive at once.
We'll work through the realities of managing relationships at the senior level, including difficult conversations, managing up, trust, feedback, conflict, boundaries, and the difference between caring for people and carrying people.
Whose definition of success are you living? Many of us were raised on a promise: work hard, stay loyal, earn your place, and the reward will come. We did everything right, and some of us still ended up asking, who am I without the title? We'll examine ambition, achievement, money, career, family, rest, purpose, and the expectations you've inherited, and create space to decide what success means to you now, on your own terms.
We'll bring the work together and ask: Who am I becoming as a leader?
You'll create your personal Culture by Design™ Leadership Blueprint to define how you want to lead, what you want to protect, what you're no longer willing to normalize, and the culture you want to create around you.
This is not six weeks of sitting through presentations. We'll learn together, but we'll also coach, bringing real situations into the room: the conversation with your CEO you're avoiding, the decision you're second-guessing, the boundary you're struggling to hold, the promotion you're not sure you actually want, the exhaustion you haven't said out loud.
This is a space where you don't have to perform competence. You can come into the room still figuring it out.
I know what it costs to lead without wholeness. This cohort is what I'm building in response. — Lula
